Butch
Evans - Guitar, Vocals
Butch was raised in St. Albans West Virginia by Peg and
Frank Evans and graduated from the St. Albans class of 1963. He has two
brothers and one sister, Eddie, Richard (better known as Piggy) and Sue.
In the 8th grade his sister won a free guitar lesson at Herbert's Music
Studio on Main Street. She offered this free lesson to Butch and the rest
is history. Butch fell in love with the guitar and took several years of
lessons. He played in several musical groups during his high school years,
The Centennials being the longest.
Butch relishes his friendships that he made during his high school and
college years, both in and out of the musical profession. In the summer of
1964 he joined the Esquires which had been formed in late 1963. A few
months later several other of today's Esquires joined the group.
His desire to perform has always driven him to the stage. Unfortunately,
his need to make a decent living guided him toward a career in the
computer industry, first as a computer programmer and to the present
position of president of a small IT firm. Oddly enough, music and computer
programming has unique similarities which gave him the chance to select a
career that has been enjoyable and rewarding.
He is currently living in Cross Lanes with a lovely wife and two teenage
girls. He was fortunate enough to raise two fine sons who he is very
proud. Chad, Joshua, Karla, Kate, and Abby are very supportive of his
musical efforts and enjoy "The Esquire Sound".
By and large, Butch is just an average guy who cherishes his family,
friends, music, and profession. He says "I have three great girls at
home, two wonderful sons that are doing well, a business that is not
losing money, and I play in a Rock and Roll Band.
Who could ask for more?" |
