Laura, born and raised in Charleston West Virginia, comes from a long line of singers and musicians. Her grandfather, who played guitar on the radio in the early days of country music, her grandmother, a guitarist, pianist and singer her whole life, and her mom, a musician and singer as well, all sang to her and with her from birth. Laura started her singing career at 4 years old with her first solo in a church musical and continued performing through high school and college.

Laura received voice training first from her family, then from Dr. Truman Dalton from WV State University singing with the Mel Gillespie Orchestra in the 90’s. She also did productions with the Charleston Light Opera Guild performing the leading role in Guys and Dolls. She sang with the Production Company from Charleston for a while and has been performing at civic and political functions for many years.

Laura is particularly close to her family and has two nephews from the Elkview area, children of her sister, that she spoils and loves dearly. Laura also loves dogs and has 4 at home.  She has worked for Metro 911 for 15 years and likes the pace and challenge of her job.

Laura is thrilled to have the opportunity to sing with the Esquires. She feels comfortable with the style of music they perform and she loves to sing harmony, which the group does on many songs.

Overall, Laura has the history, background and love for music that helps her to thrive on stage with the Esquires. She’s a little gal with a surprisingly big sound.
