"We had the Esquires as entertainment for a national convention in early December of 2011. Simply put; “They brought down the house”. T. Booking was easy, too. If your group/function wants some early ‘Motown’ you better sign the Esquires up in a hurry."

Philip Morrison, member

National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators

"As one of the members of the SAHS Class of 1961,  we were som happy to be able to book The Esquires as our entertainment for our 50 year reunion at Berry Hills.  It was a classy fabulous evening and everyone enjoyed having

The Esquires.  They made our evening.  Book them for lots of fun!!!!"

Sharron Rogers St. Albans High School Reunion Committee Coordinator

"Nobody fans the fires of tradition like the venerable Esquires. Charleston's premiere oldies dance band keeps the faith for a generation reared on the roots of rock 'n roll, soul and rhythm and blues. They play and sing with contagious joy. Long live the Esquires!"

Sandy Wells

Location: Charleston Levee

"The Esquires has provided Riverfest with years of wonderful entertainment. We have had awesome results using them for years. A crowd pleaser every time. You cant go wrong with them for your festival, party or event."

Greg Harkins

Vice President, St. Albans Riverfest

"The Esquire's is a top of the line, high energy group that our Festival, City and surrounding communities have had the pleasure of their expertise and professionalism for 3 straight years during our Labor Day Weekend Festival. Their performance on stage and their interaction with the crowd was awesome and the level of enjoyment was amazing."

Jack McClung, Director

Oak Leaf Festival, Oak Hill, W.V.

"The Esquires can electrify an evening with the greatest songs from the sixties and up.  With great vocals and a complement of horns, drums and guitars they will bring you to your feet and keep you dancing for an entire show."

THE ESQUIRES RHYTHM & BLUES BAND

THE ESQUIRES' music represent the sixties RHYTHM and BLUES era with a repertoire of songs recorded by such R&B greats as James Brown, Wilson Picket, Otis Reading, The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Embers, Otis Day, Doug Clark and many others. Their down to earth funky R&B sound reflects the individual members love for this style of music. Formed in the early sixties, these nineteen year old musicians performed in the South Eastern United States Area for almost a decade, primarily for college student "dance" crowds. Just a note that during the mid 60's The Esquires spent their summers at Myrtle Beach and worked with some of the greatest shag groups. After a twelve year hiatus the band reformed in 1983 and began performing once again to the delight of the now thirty to sixty year old audiences. They have performed with the Beach Boys, Three Dog Night, Chubby Checker, and The Coasters since their revival. In 1995 they were guests of the Russian Government for an 11 day whirlwind tour of Moscow, where they performed at 5 of the most prestigious night clubs in Moscow plus a live television viewing audience of approximately 120 million.

The current accompaniment of instruments consists of a lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums, and three piece horn section. The band features two female and two male lead vocalists that provide audiences with a variety of vocal ranges. Combined with the addition of their four background musician/vocalist, the band is able to produce a "Rich and Gutsy"R&B sound.
